Privacy Policy
Last updated October 4, 2026
EasyCast (easycast.live) is operated by EssentialApps. This policy explains what information we collect when you use EasyCast and what we do with it. We don't sell your information, and we don't use advertising or analytics trackers in the studio.
Information we collect
- Host account. Your email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address from Google instead of a password.
- Things you save. Scenes (layouts, background and logo images) and stream destinations, including stream keys, so they're ready the next time you sign in.
- Usage. The number of hours you stream and record on our server each month, to apply your plan's limits.
- Sign-in records. The time and IP address of sign-ins, failed sign-in attempts and registrations, used to keep accounts secure.
- Guests. Guests don't create an account. We see only the display name they enter, for as long as they're in a room.
Video, audio and recordings
- Calls. Camera and microphone streams travel directly between participants' browsers (peer-to-peer) wherever possible. Our server helps participants find each other but doesn't record calls.
- Live streams. When you go live, your program is sent through our server to the platforms you choose (for example YouTube or Facebook). It isn't stored on our server. Once it reaches a platform, that platform's own privacy policy applies.
- Server recordings (MKV). These are written to our server while you record and deleted once they've been converted and downloaded. If you disconnect mid-recording, the file is kept for up to 24 hours so you can recover it, then deleted.
- Local recordings (WebM). These are saved directly to your own device and never reach our server.
- MP4 conversion. When you convert a recording to MP4, the file is uploaded, converted and deleted from our server right after the download.
Your browser
EasyCast stores your sign-in token, email address, last room name and a copy of your scenes in your browser's local storage, so you stay signed in. We don't set advertising or tracking cookies. To help participants connect, browsers contact Google's public STUN servers, which see your IP address. If Google sign-in is available, Google's sign-in script is loaded from Google.
How we use information
We use your information only to run EasyCast: to sign you in, save your settings, relay your streams, produce your recordings, apply plan limits and protect the service from abuse.
Sharing
We share information only with the streaming platforms you choose to stream to, with Google if you use Google sign-in, and with service providers that host our servers. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting data
Account data, scenes and stream keys are kept until you delete your account. Recordings are deleted as described above. To delete your account and everything saved with it, email support@easycast.live from the address on your account.
Children
EasyCast isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
